Navigating the zombified streets of HELL-A in Dead Island 2 requires collecting key items to unlock valuable loot crates and complete special side quests. Among the various Lost and Found side missions in the game, tracking down the Missing: Jamal quest offers players a direct path to securing specialized gear. Understanding where to find Jamal's key and how to safely complete his objective ensures that survivors do not miss out on vital rewards.
Starting the Missing Jamal Quest
Before players can track down Jamal's key, they must first activate his dedicated Lost and Found quest. Access to this quest becomes available at the Serling Hotel in Ocean Avenue after finishing the Plumbing the Depths main story mission. Inspecting the missing person notice board next to Dr. Reed's office will allow players to pick up the journal that kicks off the search.
Investigating the Security Huts
The first stage of the investigation sends players back to the Halperin Hotel district to search security booths for clues regarding Jamal's whereabouts. Both security huts require disabling nearby alarm systems and breaking electronic maglocks to safely access the interiors. Inside these booths, players will collect journal entries revealing that Jamal fled in a red pickup truck while wearing full riot gear.
Finding Jamal and Acquiring the Key
With the clues gathered, players must head toward the massive road sinkhole located near the Halperin Hotel intersection. Near the collapsed street, you will discover Jamal's crashed red truck surrounded by several hostile zombies. Eliminating the armored zombie version of Jamal causes him to drop Jamal's Crate Key directly on the ground.
Unlocking Jamal's Stash Rewards
Once the key is secured, players can immediately approach the back of the pickup truck to unlock Jamal's Stash and his personal ammo box. Opening these containers rewards players with a rare weapon, firearm ammunition, and completing the quest awards 1,500 XP. Claiming these rewards provides essential combat upgrades that make future encounters across Los Angeles much easier to manage.
